CALL FOR PROPOSALS TO BE FUNDED THROUGH RWANDA DAIRY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT-TWO(RDDP-2) RAB-SPIU/IFAD FUNDED PROJECT.

Kilimo Trust in collaboration with Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board (RAB) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI), through Rwanda Dairy Development Project Phase II (RDDP-2) funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), hereby invites individual dairy farmers (youth, women and men), involved in dairy value chain activities to apply for matching grants on the following facilities:

  • Dam sheets with treadle pumps and accessories.
  • Chopper machines.
  • Plastic/Metal water tanks (excluding masonry tanks)

The eligible applicants should be from the following Twenty-Seven (27) districts: Nyagatare, Gatsibo, Kayonza, Ngoma, Kirehe, Rwamagana, Bugesera, Gicumbi, Gakenke, Rulindo, Burera, Musanze, Nyabihu, Ngororero, Rubavu, Rutsiro, Karongi, Nyamasheke, Rusizi, Nyaruguru, Huye, Nyamagabe, Gisagara, Nyanza, Ruhango, Muhanga and Kamonyi under RDDP-2 area of intervention. 

The proposals to be supported under RDDP-2 matching grant must be implemented in the above-mentioned Districts, interested applicants are required to click on the “View Requirements” option at the bottom of this page and submit their proposals from 23rd June, 2026 until 31st July, 2026.

Submitted proposals will be reviewed for compliance with the objectives of RDDP-2 and applicants whose proposals meet the requirements will be informed of the next stage.

RWANDA DAIRY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT PHASE TWO(RDDP-2) MATCHING GRANTS.

GRANTS INVESTMENT AND RECOMMENDED CEILINGS 

OPPORTUNITY 1: Dam sheets with treadle pumps and accessories

  • Eligible applicants: Individual dairy farmers (youth, women, and men) involved in dairy value chain activities.
  • Grant support: 60% matching grant for Individual men above 30 years of age, 70% for Women and Youth. 
  • Grant ceiling: 2,874,215 Frw

Note: Excavation of dam pits, construction of water troughs and fencing will be 100% financed by beneficiaries.

OPPORTUNITY 2:  Chopper Machines

  • Eligible applicants: Individual dairy farmers (youth, women, and men), involved in dairy value chain activities.
  • Grant support: Grant support: 50% matching grant for Individual men above 30 years of age, and 70% for Women and Youth.
  • Grant ceiling: 2,155,661 Frw

OPPORTUNITY 3:  water tanks (From 3,000 litres and above)

  • Eligible applicants: Individual dairy farmers (youth, women, and men), involved in dairy value chain activities. 
  • Grant support: 60% matching grant for Individual men above 30 years of age, and 70% for Women and Youth.
  • Grant ceiling: 1,095,000 Frw. Note: Water tank bases and gutters will be 100% financed by beneficiaries.


Note:

For all individual farmers who accessed other matching grants such as KWAMP, PRICE 1&2, PASP, RDDP, SAIP I, SAIP II, KIIMP -2, PSAC, CDAT, and Youth grants through MINAGRI, beneficiaries’ contributions will be up to 70,% and RDDP-2 contributions will be 30%.

Conditions.

All grants will be paid to the supplier’s bank accounts at the request of beneficiaries with all disbursement supporting documents. No disbursements will be made on the account of the beneficiaries. 

REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS DURING APPLICATION

  1. Signed application letter addressed to the Fund Manager (KILIMO Trust)
  2. Applicants’ national identity card or passport
  3. Signed business identification form endorsed by SPIU-RAB  staff in the district (Livestock District officer). 
  4. Bank statement indicating the source of beneficiary’s contribution
  5. Copy of the land titles registered in the names of the applicant (beneficiary)
  6. Marital status certificate issued by the sector
  7. 3 different proforma invoices from different suppliers indicating the technical specifications of the goods to be supplied, their quantities, unit price and total price for each item listed in the proforma invoice.
  8. Sustainability of the supported facilities


IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Pre-Selected applicants with promising applications/business ideas will be communicated for the next step.
  • Approved applicants will sign contracts with Kilimo Trust.
  • Applicants must implement their own contribution within one (1) month after contract signing.
  • Both the applicant and Kilimo Trust will pay directly to the supplier engaged by the beneficiary/applicant.

Note that those who failed to comply with the requirements during first call are also eligible and encouraged to re-apply.
